Last 7 days

Sample data, shown to illustrate the heatmap. Sets in the last seven days: chest 34, quads 22, lats 7, calves 0.

Logging

A spreadsheet that respects you.

Previous performance sits in every row before you type. Warm-ups, drop sets and failure sets are first-class set types, and they are excluded from your numbers where they should be — a warm-up never counts towards volume or a personal record.

Works with no signal — writes queue on the device and upload later.

Barbell Bench Press3 of 4 sets

An example logging card. Sets one and two are complete at 80 kg and 82.5 kg for five reps, set three is a personal record at 85 kg for five, and set four is not yet logged.

Muscle heatmap · free forever

Find the muscle you keep skipping.

Every set credits a primary muscle at full volume and its secondaries at half. The scale is relative to your hardest-trained group, so it answers the only useful question: what am I neglecting?

26 segments, front and back. Not a paid tier, not a trial, and never blurred behind an upgrade prompt.

Volume by groupthis week

Sample data. Sets this week by muscle group: chest 34, quads 22, shoulders 16, lats 7, calves 0.

Analytics and records

Numbers that do not flatter you.

Estimated 1RM by the Epley formula, shown only at twelve reps or fewer because above that the formula stops meaning anything. Four record types, tracked per lift, detected when you save the workout and celebrated once.

How Krovu measures your training

The rules below are the same ones the app applies. They are written down here so you can check them before you trust a number.

What is Krovu?

Krovu is a workout tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch, with a web app for logging and reviewing training on a computer. It records strength sessions set by set, times HIIT and rest intervals, detects personal records, and draws the volume you have accumulated onto a muscle heatmap. Logging, timers, records, the social feed and the heatmap are free; nutrition and AI coaching are paid tiers.

How does Krovu help with progressive overload?

Every row in the logging screen is pre-filled with what you did last time for that exercise, so adding weight or a rep is a comparison rather than a memory test. Krovu tracks four record types per lift — heaviest weight, most reps at a weight, best single-set volume and best estimated 1RM — and charts estimated 1RM over time so you can see whether the trend is actually going up.

What is a muscle heatmap?

A muscle heatmap is a front-and-back figure of the body with each muscle group shaded by how much work it has received over a period. In Krovu each working set credits its primary muscle group at full volume and each secondary group at half, and the colour scale is relative to your hardest-trained group, so an untrained group reads as cold no matter how much you lift overall.

How is training volume calculated?

Training volume is the sum of weight × reps across your working sets. A set of 100 kg for 5 reps contributes 500 kg. Warm-up sets are excluded from volume and from personal records, because counting them would inflate both; drop sets and sets taken to failure are working sets and do count.

How is estimated 1RM calculated?

Krovu uses the Epley formula: estimated one-rep max equals weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30). A set of 100 kg for 5 reps estimates 116.7 kg. The estimate is shown only for sets of 12 reps or fewer, because beyond that the formula stops being predictive.
